ELCI

An ELCI (Equipment Leakage Circuit Interrupter), commonly referred to as GFPE (Ground Fault Protection Equipment), is a device designed to interrupt power when a ground fault (a current that takes a path to ground) exceeds a predetermined value above the 6 mA GFCI level. This power interruption is quickly accomplished removing the hazardous situation within the vicinity of the effected equipment.
